Dr Carpet is a carpet, rug, upholstery and home-cleaning company serving homes and businesses across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. We're a service-area business — we come to you — and for rugs that are better cleaned at a professional rug-cleaning facility, we offer pickup and delivery. The name customers know us by is Dr Carpet; the "18" you see in our web address is only there because the shorter domain wasn't available.
Our approach is simple: recommend the least expensive treatment that will realistically solve the problem, quote honestly, and never promise a result we can't deliver. We don't guarantee 100% stain removal, and if a job turns out to be materially different from what was described on the phone, we stop and re-quote before doing the work rather than surprising you at the end.
What We Clean
We handle wall-to-wall carpet with hot-water extraction; area rugs including wool, silk and hand-knotted Persian and Oriental pieces, cleaned on-site or through pickup and delivery; upholstery, priced by seating position to keep quotes simple; mattresses; and tile and grout. How We Price and Clean
Most cleaning is offered at three levels: Basic steam cleaning for well-maintained carpet and rugs, Shampoo for odor and heavier soil, and Deep Shampoo — the most thorough level — for difficult stains. On-site area-rug cleaning starts at $2 per square foot; off-site rug cleaning through pickup and delivery starts at $4 per square foot with a $140 minimum and no separate pickup, delivery or distance fee. Sofas are priced by the number of seating positions rather than their size or cushion count. Applicable sales tax and card-processing fees may apply.
Rugs that need repair or restoration are cleaned first and then evaluated in person by our specialist — we don't quote repair from a photo — and any repair only begins after you approve it. For water damage, we extract, set controlled drying equipment, monitor moisture with meters and thermal imaging, and document the work; construction and rebuild work is referred to a licensed contractor, and insurance may cover some situations, which you'll want to confirm with your insurer.

We serve homes and businesses across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut — including New York City, Long Island's Nassau County, Westchester and Rockland, much of northern and central New Jersey and the Jersey Shore, and Fairfield County in Connecticut. Do you guarantee your cleaning removes every stain?
No. We never promise 100% stain removal. What comes out depends on the stain, how old it is, what was already tried and a physical inspection, so we give an honest assessment first and recommend the least expensive treatment that will realistically help.
Are you open on weekends?
We're open Sunday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and closed Saturdays — including for emergencies. We are not a 24/7 service.
What happens if the job is different from what I described?
If the size, item count or condition differs materially from the phone description, we stop, explain and give a revised quote before doing the work. You approve the revised scope first, and you can always decline.
