Dr Carpet
Rug Pickup & Delivery
Full-wash cleaning for wool, silk, Oriental and Persian rugs — collected from your home and returned. Basic rug pickup, cleaning and return — now from $2 per square foot, $89 minimum per rug, through January 31, 2027. Regular Basic starting rate before the special: $4 per square foot. No separate pickup or delivery fee.
Full-Wash Rug Cleaning, Collected and Returned
Some rugs are better cleaned at a professional rug-cleaning facility than in your home. Wool, silk, hand-knotted, antique, Oriental and Persian rugs — and any rug that's heavily soiled or has odor — usually benefit from a controlled, full wash rather than a surface clean on your floor. Our rug pickup and delivery service collects the rug, cleans it properly at a professional rug-cleaning facility, and returns it, across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Durable, lightly soiled or synthetic rugs are often fine cleaned on-site instead, starting at $1 per square foot with no on-site visit minimum — see area rug cleaning. When you call, we'll help you decide which approach fits your rug.
How It Works
First, tell us about the rug — its material, rough size and condition, and any stains (photos are genuinely useful here). We schedule a pickup, clean the rug at a professional rug-cleaning facility using the Basic, Shampoo or Deep Shampoo level its fiber and condition call for, and then deliver it back to you. We don't promise a fixed turnaround, because size, material and treatment all affect how long a proper wash and dry take; we'll give you a realistic timeframe once we've seen the rug.
Transparent In-Shop Pricing
In-shop rug cleaning through pickup and delivery is priced per square foot:
- Basic — Limited-Time Special — from $2 per square foot (regular starting rate:
$4 per square foot). $89 minimum per rug; valid through January 31, 2027. - Shampoo — $6 per square foot
- Deep Shampoo — $8 per square foot
The eligible Basic special has an $89 minimum per rug and includes pickup and return delivery. Shampoo and Deep Shampoo retain their separate rates and regular $140 off-site minimum. The Basic special cannot be combined with the website 10% first-service discount or other offers. Applicable sales tax and card-processing fees may apply. The final cleaning level and price are confirmed after assessment, before work begins.
Repair & Restoration
We also offer rug repair and restoration — fringe, edges, holes, color loss and more — but we never quote that work from a photo. The rug is cleaned first, then evaluated in person by our specialist, who determines what's actually needed. Any repair begins only after you approve it, and some customers choose to clean only. Related services: Persian rug cleaning and Oriental rug cleaning.
Rug Pickup & Delivery — FAQ
How much does rug pickup and delivery cost?
Basic rug pickup, cleaning and return currently starts at $2 per square foot with an $89 minimum per rug, through January 31, 2027. The regular Basic starting rate before the special was $4 per square foot. Shampoo is $6 and Deep Shampoo is $8 per square foot, with the regular $140 off-site minimum for those separate treatment levels. There is no separate pickup, delivery or distance fee. The Basic special cannot be combined with the website first-service discount or other offers. Final method and price are confirmed after assessment, before work begins. Applicable sales tax and card-processing fees may apply.
Is pickup and delivery better than on-site cleaning?
It depends on the rug. Durable synthetics and lightly soiled rugs are often fine cleaned on-site (from $1 per square foot, no on-site visit minimum). Wool, silk, hand-knotted, antique or heavily soiled rugs usually benefit from a full facility wash, which is what pickup and delivery is for.
How do you decide which cleaning level a rug needs?
We ask about the rug's material, size and condition and look at any stains — photos help. Basic suits well-maintained rugs, Shampoo handles odor and heavier soil, and Deep Shampoo is the most thorough level. We recommend the least expensive level that will realistically work.
Can you repair a rug during pickup and delivery?
We offer rug repair and restoration, but we don't price it from a photo. The rug is cleaned first and then evaluated in person by our specialist, who determines what repair is actually needed. Any repair starts only after you approve it.
How long does it take to get my rug back?
Turnaround depends on the rug's size, material and condition and the treatment it needs, so we don't promise a fixed number of days. We'll give you a realistic timeframe when we assess the rug, and we're closed Saturdays.
