Rug, Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning in Montclair
Montclair's Victorians and character homes — fine rug, carpet and upholstery cleaning suited to older houses.
Montclair's housing leans older and full of character — Victorians and early-20th-century homes with wood stairs, area rugs and rooms that have seen decades of use. That mix suits our approach: match the method to the material and don't over-treat.
If you have wool or antique area rugs, those are usually best cleaned at a professional rug-cleaning facility through pickup and delivery.
Older Homes, Careful Cleaning
In character homes we're mindful of delicate rugs and well-worn carpet, choosing the gentlest effective treatment and setting honest expectations about aged stains. Staircase runners and hallway wool are frequent requests, along with upholstery on furniture that's often had a long life.
For rugs showing color loss or long-standing pet urine, we clean first and evaluate before discussing repair, so nothing is quoted blind from a photo.
Cleaning Services We Offer in Montclair
Pickup & Delivery for Montclair's Rugs
For wool, silk and hand-knotted rugs, our rug pickup & delivery service is often the safest choice: we discuss the rug's size and condition, collect it, clean it at a professional rug-cleaning facility with the right treatment, and return it. Off-site rug cleaning starts at $4 per square foot with a $140 minimum, and there is no separate pickup, delivery or distance fee.
Montclair FAQ
Can you take my area rugs offsite to clean them?
Yes — Montclair rugs that do better with a full immersion wash are collected, cleaned at a professional rug-cleaning facility and returned. Off-site rug cleaning is $4, $6 and $8 per square foot for Basic, Shampoo and Deep with a $140 minimum, and pickup and delivery are included with no distance fee.
Can you repair or restore a damaged rug?
We handle rug repair and restoration, but final pricing isn't given from a photo. The rug is cleaned first, then evaluated by our specialist, who determines what repair is actually needed. Repairs begin only after you approve them.
Will a deep clean get an old stain out completely?
Not always. As a rule of thumb from experience, Basic makes a modest dent in a stubborn stain, Shampoo does more, and Deep Shampoo the most — but set-in stains may only partly lift, so we give an honest read before we start rather than promising a perfect result.
Is a faded or bleached patch something you can clean out?
Cleaning won't fix it, because bleach removes the color from the fiber rather than leaving a stain on top. That falls under color repair, not cleaning, and we'd assess it in person before suggesting anything.
How should I prepare for my Montclair appointment?
Vacuum if you can, clear small breakables from the floor and point out problem spots. It helps to tell us when each stain happened, what caused it and whether anything was already used on it — photos are welcome.
